Ahhhh. January. Thank god. Carolyn and I finally get a little breathing room and can renew our blog. This catering business has been nuts for the past several months and our weekly blogs were tossed aside for Fall Festivals and holiday hors d’ oeuvres. Somehow we squeezed in processing around a hundred whitetail deer for our friends and neighbors during one of our busier periods of 2010.
As the colors of fall bled into the snows of winter, we competed in our first ever cook-off (the Maryland State Rockfish Cook-off) and honestly we’re hooked. The Local Flavors team took an Honorable Mention, and I believe you’ll see a schedule of cook offs in 2011. We’ll let you know when and where.
For now, it’s time to relax some sore muscles and figure out some new flavors in the sun of the Keys.
