Local Flavors Catering began as an inspiration to offer superb outside and indoors events and parties with excellent, fresh food and great finesse. Chip and Carolyn wanted to bring much better personal service and quality menu choices into a catering industry which has leaned toward providing generic entrees and re-heated, not-so-great food. Their culinary flavor is sought after by large corporations as well as backyard barbecues. Why? Because no one else brings their quality of flavor mixed with over 20 years of managing creative events … or their kind of personal “we’re here to help you” service.

Q:         What inspired Local Flavors?

Sitting at a wedding, I watched friends and family eat yet another  rubber chicken dinner while staring at my own plate of not quite ripe cantaloupe. I think there’s a general lack of flavor and creativity in the catering industry. We’re trying to change that one party at a time.

Q:         What’s your favorite part about catering?

Extending our circle of friends. We meet new people at every event and often run into familiar faces.

Q:          What inspired Local Flavors?

I’ve spent more than 20 years managing some of the largest catering companies in the Mid-Atlantic and farming my family’s farms. Carolyn and I saw a real need in the market for a “back to basics” approach to catered events.

Q:         What’s your favorite thing about catering?

The creative element. We customize every facet of each event. All these new menus and recipes present intriguing challenges on a daily basis.
